Privacy Policy

Last updated: 29 September 2026

This policy explains what information PurrScout ("we", "the app") collects, why, and the choices you have. By using the app you agree to this policy.

1Information we collect

  • Account: your email address (with Sign in with Apple it can be Apple's private relay address; with Google, the address of the Google account you choose), and the display name, birthday and optional avatar you provide during setup.
  • Your content: the collections you create (including an optional event date for a gift list) and the products you save (links, titles, images, prices and price history, notes, "Bought" marks) and their order.
  • Stores and Deals: the stores you follow, hide or add, and the deals you have seen or saved, so we can pick deals for you.
  • Notifications: if you allow notifications, your device's push token and your alert settings.
  • Purchases: if you buy PurrScout Pro, Apple processes the payment. We receive a signed transaction record from Apple and use it only to unlock Pro for your account. We never see your card details.
  • Support: the messages you send from Profile → Support, with the app version, device model and language.
  • Anonymous usage statistics: which features are used (for example, "a product was saved" or "the Deals tab was opened"). They are tied to a random ID created on your device, not to your account, never include your name, email or what you save, and their times are rounded to the hour. You can turn them off in Profile → Account → Share anonymous usage data.
  • On your device only: crash reports from Apple's MetricKit and Face ID. Secret collections are unlocked with Face ID or your passcode through iOS; biometric data never leaves your device and we never receive it.

We use no third-party analytics or advertising SDKs and build no advertising profiles.

2How we use it

We use your information only to provide and improve the app: to sign you in; to store and sync your collections across your devices and the Share Extension; to check the prices and availability of the products you save and notify you about changes; to pick deals from the stores you follow; to answer support requests; and to understand, in aggregate, which features work. We do not use it for advertising.

3Where it is stored

Data is stored with our backend provider, Supabase, in the EU region. Access is protected by row-level security so your data is readable only by your account — except a collection you explicitly choose to share by link, which becomes viewable by anyone who has that link until you stop sharing.

4Shared lists and gift reservations

People who open your shared link can see that collection and mark items as reserved, without an account. You can see which of those items are reserved, but never who reserved them. A guest's reservation is tied to a random ID kept in their browser; to prevent abuse, their network address is used only in a one-way hashed form and is never stored as is.

5Service providers

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with the service providers that operate the app on our behalf — Supabase (storage, sign-in and server functions), Apple (Sign in with Apple, notifications and payments), Google (if you sign in with Google) and the hosting provider that serves shared-list pages — and only as needed to run the service, or where required by law. To check a product or a store's deals, our server loads the store's public page; that request contains no personal data. Store icons come from our own server or, when we don't have one yet, are loaded by the app directly from that store's own website — never from a third party, and never anything about your account.

6Data retention and deletion

We keep your data while your account exists. Anonymous usage statistics are deleted after at most 90 days, and technical logs after a limited period. You can delete your account at any time from Profile → Account → Delete Account. This permanently removes your profile, collections, saved products, uploaded images, store preferences and notification settings. Anonymous usage statistics can't be linked to you, so they expire on their own.

7Security

Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS) and protected at the database level by per-user access rules. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information.

8Children

PurrScout is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.

9Changes

We may update this policy as the product evolves; material changes will be communicated in the app.

11Affiliate links

PurrScout may use affiliate links. When you follow an affiliate link, the affiliate partner or network and the store may receive the information necessary to attribute a purchase or commission (for example, a click identifier, the time of the click and that the visit came from PurrScout); they process it under their own privacy policies. PurrScout does not rank products or deals based on affiliate commission.
